The summer of 2014 has come and gone. This summer, the fishing was pretty good but the trout bite was not what it has been in the past. We had more shark fishing charters booked this year so the trout were not targeted as much. The Sheepshead fishing was consistent all summer and should be even better once the waters start to cool. The fall fishing in the Charleston-Kiawah areas is some of the best fishing of the year. Water temps are the key. The cooler the waters get, the better the fishing unless it gets too cold and the bite just shuts off but that doesn’t usually  happen until after the new year.  This summer was a really good year for larger sharks than normal both in the river and just offshore.photo (42)IMG_0535saltfisher3IMG_0659jon71
